Our Story
37 years of marriage. 35 years of ministry and leadership. One unshakable conviction: God makes a way — and He often does it through people who walk beside you.
How It Began
When Penny and Scott Tischler said "I do" thirty-seven years ago, they had no idea what God was building. They weren't planning a ministry. They were two people learning — often the hard way — how to follow God through real life: raising a family, serving a church, leading people, and staying faithful when it would have been easier to quit.
For thirty-five of those years, they have served in ministry and leadership. They've stood in front of rooms and knelt in back ones. They've counseled couples at kitchen tables, discipled new believers, led teams through seasons of growth and seasons of loss. They know what it feels like to carry a calling that's bigger than your energy — because they've carried one, together, for three and a half decades.
Somewhere along the way, a pattern emerged. The people who came to them weren't looking for another sermon or another book. They were looking for someone who had been there. Someone who would listen without flinching, speak the truth in love, and help them find the next faithful step.
That's what coaching became for Penny and Scott — not a career move, but the natural next chapter of a lifetime of walking with people. Creating A Way Coaching Ministry was born out of Isaiah 43:19: "Behold, I am doing a new thing… I will make a way in the wilderness." They've watched God make a way in their own wilderness seasons. Now they help others find theirs.
Why Two Coaches
It's intentional. A coach who has lived your season sees what others miss — and keeping coaching within gender keeps every relationship safe, wise, and above reproach.
Penny has spent 35 years alongside women in every imaginable season — young moms and empty nesters, women stepping into leadership and women quietly wondering if God still has a plan for them. She listens deeply, asks gently, and refuses to let any woman believe the lie that her season of purpose has passed.
She coaches: women in ministry leadership, and Christian women in any walk of life who are ready for clarity, growth, and a deeper walk with God.
